mindfields - a computer generated short movie

I’d just say paranormal ? :o :o :o

Unfortunately your site is disappointing : nothing to read in the making of section :frowning: Can’t wait to understand how you make so perfect particles systems, I had to watch it twice to really believe it !

Simply the best Blender stuff I’ve seen so far.

Serialsiner.

OH MY… you rock!! thanks for the comments!!! :o

awesome making of  :o

Wow, fantastic ! I thought I’d have to wait for times before reading your making of and it’s already there

I like it a lot, everything’s explained very clearly, Bravo !

Now I guess everyone seeing that wants to create a short too.

Great work !

Serialsiner.

The answers were there.
Inspirational use of prcedural textures, must play about with them some time.

Great making of!

I’m trying to make some particle here at the moment

it look good now,but I can’t succeed at getting the light effect at the front. This blue/white light. You said you used 2 halo material with blend texture, but I can’t get the effect to work. Could we have a bit more tips on that plz?

Thank you for giving us tips about the particle

Hi,

I had to move the files, because
all the downloading has already used
up my 4gigs of bandwidth…

The new servers are:
www.joegames.com/elementi-motus/andy/mindfields_high.avi
www.joegames.com/elementi-motus/andy/mindfields_low.avi

I am sorry for the inconvenience…

Sincerely,
Derek Mounce

thats the sweetest movie ever created…

Uhm, the High-res download of the movie is exactly 388 bytes.

Not a lot to view

:o :o :o

Wow. That was well worth the hour it took to download. sigh… someday I’ll be able to do that… maybe…

intrr: are you using the new URLs Tekobyte posted?

wow!!!

awesome job

I enjoyed it from start to finish

[>] the bar has been raised!!

thanks tekobyte for the download

cheers

Yes, I agree with everyone.
I finally got a chance to watch it,
and I am truly awed.

The story is presented very well.
I did read a little about it before,
about what a “mindfield” is supposed
to be, but the story was still presented
well. In contrast, Cyan Sun’s story was
presented very poorly. Don’t get me
wrong, Cyan Sun had good CG, but
even having the story spelled out
word for word before-hand, it still
is one of those that is trying to be
“deep” and is just nonsense.
(again though, I really liked Cyan
Sun.)

Anyway, Mindfields was amazing; truly.

I must apologize for the patheticly
slow servers I am using. The faster
one got the 4gigs of bandidth run up
in one and a half days, so I had to
move the short to the unlimited banidth
ones… Sorry about that.

Mighty impressive stuff, @ndy! The last 40-50% of it could work very well as a demo-animation for Blender particles, no doubt. Stunning effort!

can’t download it :frowning:
I’ll try again later, stills look great.

me too I cant download it :frowning:

DIVX!!! :frowning: aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!1111!!!111!!1!1!1!!!111

i cant play that at school and at home i have a fucking 56k!!!

Very nice making of. And, I’ve said it before, the movie is still exelent. Good usage of music and efx. This would be frontpage material.

hint… hint…

one pint of lager for me, please!

@ndy, you already know what i think from our conversations, but still, it looks awsome… give me particlke tutorials now… give me grass tutorials now, give me life tutorials now!

Show this at siggraph to showcase blenders efficency!

I would like to know if the character was animated with bones or with RVK…

As I said, great Job !!
Thanks for the making of, it rocks !!
