mirror editing bones/envelopes?

How to do that? i turned on “x-axis mirror editing” in the armature options of the left and right boneparts and they are also named correctly with *.L and *.R and suffix.
Still i see no effect, although i expected something like “x-mirror” weigth painting.

Correct skinning also seems much harder than in 3dsmax so maybe someone got a good
skinning tutorial for blender? i didn’t find a reasonable at all.


With x-axis mirroring on, hold down the shift key when you want to extrude mirrored bones.

well thats good but if you want edit bones regularly beside extruding?

The bones that you create using the shit-extrude method mirror transformations in edit mode.
