"Missing manifest"...?

I have absolutely no coding experience except for some basic html.

I recently bought a blender add-on called villagen, and I am having issues installing it into blender. When I try to upload a zip, I get a message saying “missing manifest from:” and then then the file path. How do I fix this? I’d rather not upload the extension to prevent people from stealing the add-on without paying If it comes to that, I can provide the file.
