While following a tutorial it showed how to close the timeline window. Unfortunately not how to reopen it. So I googled and supposedly there is supposed to be this little hard to get hold of place at the very bottom of the window represented by these slanted lines. however, there are no slanting lines at the bottom.
so all I want is to know what the heck the keyboard key is to reopen. every other panel has a key. such as T or N to reopen panels. or the plus icon. Why on earth wouldnt blender have a simple solution for reopening a timeline???
Im stumped. googled, eyeballed. checked the manual and everthing under “open timeline” does not answer the question.
Maybe you have maximized a window? Press Ctrl + Up arrow to get back to normal view.
If not, in the left bottom corner and top right of a window there IS a triangle of slanting lines. There is no command “open timeline” because any window can be a timeline window, just change the window type from the leftmost button in window buttonbar.
If you don’t believe there is a triangle of slanting lines, post a screen grab of your Blender UI.
The corner triangle is not in evry corner of the window.
Alterntive option to split a window. Hover your cursor over the edge of a window so that it becomes a two headed arrow. then use RMB and select ‘Split Area’. Then in the left hand side of the new header select the window to be a timeline
