MMB rotation problem

I’m using blender 2.69 static with Cycles render on ubuntu 12.04 LTS .
When I press the middle mouse button, the scene zooms out like crazy instead of rotating like it should. Sometimes it stops and does rotate but unexpectedly. Perhaps there is a conflict with ubuntu on some hotkey thing. Does anyone else have this issue?
SOLVED: faulty mouse.

This happens to me sometimes as well. It seems to fix itself after I save and restart the program. I work on Mac btw.

Are you sure your scrollwheel isn’t faulty?

Tried it with a mouse that has the ball on the side and it works all right. Guess it was the mouse. Thanks.
