Model has parts missing when displaying

Dear All,

I hope someone can help. I am trying to model a building in Blender but as soon as I pan around the image, big parts seem to go missing from it as shown in the attached images.

I hope someone can help, and many thanks in advance.

Best wishes,

Mike

Try increasing the view clipping distance View / View Properties
Do the same for the camera in its settings as well or it won’t render all of it. (select the camera / F9 / Camera panel)

Richard

Try setting the view clipping in View >> View Properties (doesn’t seem to be that), or, if it’s UVMapped set it to TwoSide (doesn’t seem to be that either as it should only happen in Textured mode). Maybe upload the file so we can poke around in it.

Hi Richard and Fligh,

Many thanks for your replies and apologies for the delay in my response, but I’ve been looking after my 18 month old daughter so have had no spare time to even eat properly.

I have attached the Blend file that I took the screenshots of for your perusal/analysis. I do hope you manage to figure out the problem as I spent many nights getting accustomed to and learning Blender so that I can use it for this project and I have really started to enjoy using it. And I would really like to finish it off using Blender too, plus use my newly acquired knowledge to put Blender to other uses too.

Please let me know what else I can do.

Many thanks again for your help and I await with bated breath for your replies.

Best wishes,

Mike

Do what I say above.

Richard

your model is realy big, im not sure why you need it so big, so if there isnt a full reason then you might aswell go into edit mode select all with a and scale, if you cant see your model hit the period key (.) on your keypad to zoom up to it.

Dear Richard,

Your suggestion worked like a charm, many thanks!! You’re a Grade A1 Star!! I am really grateful!!

If I can ever repay the favour, please let me know…

Best wishes,

Mike

Hi Joe,

Thanks for your post. The reason for the large size is that I am modelling an existing building and I am trying to maintain my geometry by keeping to the dimensions that I measured.

I have already created the building in CMs rather than in MMs (my preferred option), but I am not comfortable with going any further than this as I will cause myself too many complications if I need to add/subtract/analyse anything on the completed model. I hope you understand.

Regards,

Mike
