Hey everybody
I just made a new low poly model to test little animations with, and after a while of rigging and animating I was pretty happy with the result. Then when I started rendering it and playing it back a few times (Also in blender realtime) I noticed that the model started doing things I didn’t want it to do.
Here’s a screencap of how I made the frame:
But when I scrub through the frames it looks like this:
(It only goes back to normal when I select the bones, press G and then right click)
It even does it when it renders:
What to do?
Typically posting the file is the best way to get help, but I think your pics show enough for me to take a stab at the problem. I think you have a cyclic dependency problem, basically, some bones in your rig have constraints that are interfering with the parent/child relationship of the bones.
To check this, with the armature in pose (or object mode), tab into edit mode and back out. Then consult the console window for error messages, (win machines - look under the window menu option in the top header, linux - run blender from console window, mac - no idea).

Thanks!
I think you were right with the constraints, so I ended up redoing the control bones, so it wasn’t even that much work
