Hi Everyone,
Edit: Adjusting post with gifs (now that I have the ability)
Modeler Pro addon is now on Blender Market . It’s now up to version 1.1 with loads of new features and updates!
As for some highlighted features
(more detailed description with video, images and gifs on Blender Market):
Bevel Weight Gradients
A unique new feature for blender that enables you to add specific curves with different curvature/noise/size to your bevel weights.
Collection Helpers
Pie menu for easily moving objects to different collections.
Toggles Pie Menu
Pie menu to easily toggle on/off commonly used modifiers. For example toggling bevel+weighted normals I use all the time. You also have control if you ever have a modifier you don’t want to toggle on/off with this tool by simply adding “_off” suffix to the name of the modifier you wish to have stay as is.
Smart Bevel Weight Pie
Pie menu that sets specific bevel weights. Very useful when trying to be precise with your bevel weights and also for high poly meshes where Blender’s bevel weight tool starts lagging. Also key here is that when applying a bevel weight using this tool it will automatically save that weight to an easy to select set. You then can later come back and use the SELECT weighted edges button on the pie to selected specific weights (0.3, 0.6, etc)
Save Bevel Setting
Save bevel modifiers to a json file and set as a preset. You can use these presets to add different looks to your mesh without fiddling with your modifier every time.
Change Specific Individual Settings
Ability to chance any and all bevel settings of all selected mesh(s) bevel modifier such as the profile shape.
Create Primitive based on Bounding Box
Create a mesh primitive based on the bounding box of either selected mesh or if in edit mode; the current selection. Can change number of sides and orientation with scroll wheel and X key.
Origin Quick Move
Move your mesh origin (aka as pivot in other programs) to a specifc direction on the mesh. The tool is responsive to you moving the camera about your object.
Bevel Amount Pie
Adjusts the bevel amount of all selected meshes that have a bevel modifier via math (multiply or divide). Very useful when working on high poly meshes and prefer to type in or do math to bevel amount out of fear something like the HOPS bevel adjuster lags with a high poly mesh (as it does). Also works based on what limit method you have in your modifier. SO if you are using the pie menu for adjusting bevel modifiers set to angle, it will only adjust those meshes selected’s bevel amount.
FBX Exporter
And finally an FBX exporter with various useful settings such as:
-subfolder
-prefix and suffix
-Exclude meshes from export set to display as bounds or wireframe (often your cutters/bools)
-Exclude meshes or collections set to disable on render from exporting
-Exclude from modifier application modifiers named with a “_off” suffix (when using the apply modifier setting)
-Parent exporting, simple named exporting, and active exporting (same as parent, but just works based of active object acting as the “parent”)
-Move to center
For anything more detailed about a specific function check it out on on Blender Market and features video:
Changelog
- 8/28/24. Initial release: 0.9 version.
- 9/2/24. Version 0.9.5. Big update:
-increased max primitives’ vert count
-Greatly refined origin and 3d cursor movement and pie menu. Now screen space so “left” and “right” are correctly set based on the way your viewport is facing the mesh. Also now has “center right” and “center left”
-added X keypress for changing orientation of the generated primitive (with tooltip help)
-added cone number of sides changing (which was missing before)
9/7: 1.0 BETA.
- Added simple fbx exporter. Note of minor bug: when first using the exporter it may require manual input of export path location (as opposed to the folder button) for the first time, after that the path works as expected every time. Fix upcoming but it’s a rare case with an easy workaround.
-removed wheel input for cube primitive since… there no point there
-general clean up
9/14: 1.0 BETA 2.
- This is the 1.0 release candidate! More testing to be done but 1.0 should be out in about a week give or take.
- ability to undo origin movements with the addon’s pie
- added “move to 0,0,0” for origin
- added UI display of how many sides your primitive has when changing with mousewheel
- fixed rare instance of fbx file location not showing correctly when picking it for the exporter.
-added EXPORT MODES for the expoerter.
Named, Active, and parent based. Active names based on active mesh, and when move to center is checked on it moves meshes as though the active mesh were the parent of the selected meshes and moves to 0,0,0 accordingly.
- added “exclude meshes in collections set to “disabled in render””
- added "exclude applying modifiers with “_off” as a suffix in the modifier name
9/21/2024: 1.1
- OUT OF BETA. Official first major release.
- added move origin to active’s origin to the origin pie
- more tool tooltip descriptions and general clean up
- WIP documentation
