Hey guys. I’m doing a product visualization for a client of a similar product as seen in the attachment. My question is what would be the best was to go about modeling the jagged edges on the sides of the tissue package? Thanks and kind regards.
How about not modeling it but using an alpha texture instead?

No. Alpha texture is either a greyscale image for alpha only, or you could use alpha channel from the diffuse map (that you make). You would use either of those then to influence material transparency.
