Modeling and Video Games

Hi,

I made this model for my video game.
m24 with scope.
580108 Vertices
578277 Faces

My question is how do I make this model light enough for a video game without losing a lot of quality ?
Any tutorial, keywords, websites, anything… would be very helpful.

there’s no real science to it. Most games now a days do this by lowering the poly’s then making a normal/bump map from the high to low poly model. This can be done in blender.

But it depends on the game. A model for Quake 2 normally should have a LOT less poly’s vs something for Doom 3 or Crysis, for example.
