Modeling low poly plants for unity.

Hey all, I’m working on a project for which I need to create a garden in Unity. But I’m having some trouble working out a decent workflow. Low poly plants seem really hard to get right, which I pretty much expected.

I’m curious if anyone has any advice or would like to share their own methods? Like, how do you create a realistic hedge, or how do I create a good looking bunch of hortensias? I know I’ll have to use a lot of transparency, but Unity has some issues with overlapping alphas in a single model.
