Modeling problems

Among all of the problems I keep having with blender, this one is one of the worst.

I make all sorts of objects, circluar, cube etc. But when I go back into Obj mode, the object is bleck on the outside and grey on the inside. How do I fix this?
Also, a lot of times when I make an object and go back to object mode, there are other bleck lines that shouldn’t be there. How do I correct that to make it all the same color?

Thanks.

In edit mode you might try Ctrl-N (recalcultate normals outside)
or W->Remove Doubles.

Picture might help to see what you exactly mean.

Well, You could be having problems with your normals, try Ctrl+N. Perhaps posting a picture would help?

Nevermind. I figured it out. In the viewport shading box, I had the Draw Type on Shaded instead of solid. Sorry bout that. Thanks anyways.
