modeling space ship details quickly

Is there a fast way to make some details to a spaceship in blender, like this:

I’d like to know if there is that kind of tool in blender, or something else…
Edit: Is there a random polygon selector tool, like script or else?

There is the dreaded discombobulator script. Which is located in the Scripts menu under Mesh (i think).

That’s something! I try to make something cool with that.

Mutiply detail by sculpting something cool once, then add an array modifier to get plenty of repeats!
