Modeling the Mouth

Right now I’m modeling a creature, but I don’t know whether the inside of the mouth (gums, teeth, and tongue) should be extruded from the rest of the mesh or if it should be a completely separate object. I’ve seen it done both ways, but which one is best? I’d prefer to model it as a separate object to make it easier to model, but how hard would it be to parent it to the rest of the mesh and have it move correctly when rigged?

what i would do is extude the gums, but model the teeth as sepearate objects

Seems like a good idea. If I modeled it with separate gums, it would be much harder to rig. If it’s the same mesh, it will be a little harder to UV map, though. The teeth can be modeled individually and then joined with the mesh.
