Modeling using DupliFrames

Hi

Need some help with the More Animation and Modelling
section of the Blender docs.
http://download.blender.org/documentation/htmlI/ch22s03.html

Can someone please explain to me exactly how to
do that section because everytime
I have tried it I can’t get it to work right.

I add the surface circle in front view.
Change to top view.
Press the I key and select Rot.
Go to frame 10.
Rotate the circle 90 degrees.
Press the I key and select Rot.
Open the IPO window and select the RotZ button
and select Curve > Extend Mode > Extrapolation.
Then select DupliFrames.

All it shows is a sphere.

rotate the surface 90 degrees over its new origin

I don’t understand that at all.

:-?

Are you trying to get the corkscrew model? Did you read ahead to the next step? Doing the step where I believe you are stuck at will give you what appears to be a sphere.
Rotate 90 over its new origin - I think this just means rotate it were it is (if you moved the object in edit mode, the center (pink dot) will still be at the center of the screen. rotate it in object mode.

Are you trying to get the corkscrew model?

Yes I am try to model that.
