Modelling for commercial games that use .3ds

Hey,
I was thinking of trying to model for a commercial game called Battlefield 1942 with Blender. The game uses 3ds files. If I convert a dxf or wrl file to 3ds from Blender, will it work? And, if not, is there another program I can use?

It probably will work, but you probably will have to do more work on it after the conversion

I don’t think uv coordinates are output in either wrl or dxf
(I wouldn’t mind being proven wrong though)

… and some objects you will have to do more on (skeleton for people and whatnot)
