common guys nothing :’(
Looks ok
for me but is kinda boring.Nothing else to comment that way no one is comment on.Put the house in a scene with grass and trees…if you what comments(sorry for my eng.)
Yeah agree that you should finish it… And you’re afraid of melting ur pc? what temperatures are you getting on what components?
im just kidding guys i have no doubts that with enough time i could render out an entire scene but, with cycles it wil take weeks for me to construct a nice looking scene because i wont be able to tell how it looks when i want to make a change. i would have to re render over and over and over again and even if i were to finish it it probably wouldn’t look good because i will have been looking at the same render over and over again and i myself wouldn’t be able to tell if it looked good
and you know what… how about a “Nice model” or a “Good lighting” or maybe even a “Great material, how did you set that up?” and then i would get to tell you that i made the the textures myself and that i diverted from the tutorial in that way. and we could have a real discussion and learn something, instead of just <Its not good because the scene isn’t finished>
there are things to be learnt from every aspect of the medium its not just about having a finished scene, its about focusing on the things that you can do well and learning how to do them better
interesting , how much samples you used for such a clean image , and im really interested what you have in your Light paths option in the render tab?
Yeah A. Price makes great tutorials but your hardware must be good also.
no need to get upset, the guys are right…the scene is incomplete and thus not a finished project. The reality is if your taking Andrew’s course you should probably upgrade you video card to something CUDA enabled. At any rate I’m not sure why you have so much trouble with render times, this is an outside scene with a single sun light source. That’s probably the fastest scenario for cycles.
The materials are good and the overall layout of the building is good as well. At a minimum place the house on a flat white plan and set the world environment to “Sky Texture” and play with those settings. Also turn on AO a little bit which is also found in the “World” tab.
The main thing to remember is not to fall into the almost completed category:) Make something you are proud of and can call FINISHED:P Also there are two types of posts that receive lots of comments…the best of the best…and the worst of the worst:) Its nothing personal.
Happy Blending
don’t get upset so easily, if no one post it means you have more to learn, and don’t get it wrong, i have posts where I bumped it 7 times and nothing, so i got a lot to learn.
I’m sorry but with this kind of attitude, prepare to get upset over and over and over again. And what’s wrong with rendering repeatedly? I render hundreds of times for each project I do, even more so now when I’m learning new things (specially using nodes). And what about “nice model” or “good lighting”? You are basically asking for “forced” compliments when to be honest, its just an “ok” render. If you really want critiques post this in focused critique.
You are right about things to be learned from every aspect, well learn the fact that you will not always get replies by posting on this site. This section of the forum is “Finished Projects”. Again if you are “about focusing on the things you do well” then post in focus critique. Better yet post this in WIP section.
Again I’m sorry for being rude but I had to say what I had to say.
u guys have me wrong im not upset for not getting compliments and ill be truthful i don’t like getting repeated critiques either but i totally understand that it is an unfinished, but alot of the time its not a complete scene that creates a greater learning experience, its focusing, on something you want to learn to do specifically, i wanted to model the house in the tutorial and i wanted to finish the scene as well, but trust me this computer could not finish the scene, i was unable to render the lounge room with out my computer’s video card running out of ram and damaging system files. id u guys would look at my other works you wil see most of my scenes are finished ones, but also simplistic ones
And you know what your right i can admit it that i got upset to fast and i shouldn’t have forced you to give compliments. and im sorry
If there is one thing that that i think is fair for me to ask of you is… Realize that i am not afraid to create a full scene, i am not leaving it unfinished because i don’t think i can, i am doing the most that my computer can do
I suggest you take another look at the finished render in the architecture academy of the modern house, there is a heck of allot going on in that scene, there are trees with 100’s of 1000’s of leaves there were millions of grass particles(Which have to be rendered by CPU) and the final render must be rendered at 1000 samples with a CPU, i have considered breaking up the scene into different render layers but i failt to see how it is worth my time, i know what the scene is about. i know how to make it without the tutorial(Except the house
)
And once again… I would love it for you to see my other scenes(there are finished ones don’t worry
)
Cool looking modern house. Just keep working on it and show it to everyone when you think your done, that way you will get a whole new perspective on model.
Bliss
Filler Filler Filler
Your lighting is great, may I ask how you achieved that?
That was simple i just used a sun lamp and an HDRI from andrew prices Blossom Tutorial, It really isnt anything special
Ide really like to know what u guys think of my materials and modeling
From a architectural standpoint I have to say it is common and boring. It’s very ordinary.
It looks like clutter, it lacks harmony. It looks more like a suburban industrial office than something life-able. Try to find a way to make it dynamic so it becomes interesting. Make it participate and let the eye wonder around and discover. Don’t be distracted by modernism and look for harmony and beauty in the golden ratio.
The render doesn’t excite me either.
lol don’t get mad if i don’t praise you material and lighting setup. it’s just that what i see, is you just tried to copy andrews tutorial, so there’s not much to comment on your own work. whenever i want to learn new from a tutorial, i avoid replicating the example scene, i always try to create something my own to add up the scene and make it more personal. if you had designed your own house, found some real world examples and tried to replicate them yourself, there would have been much more to comment about it
Hi
i encourage u , keep going never look back , i have 10 years in architect designing ( exterior & interior )
when i started i made horrible mistakes .
i like to give u some advice
-never post or show an unfinished project to anyone, because he doesn’t imagine the final look as u see it.
-no one can help u learning , Relied on yourself, collect pieces from all what u learn then use your technique.
-never ever recreate another one’s work , always put your fingerprint .
-don’t Blame circumstances , try to get the best from what u have .
About your modern house , the render could be far best if u Chose a different camera position with lower front view angle ,
if u don’t have a good hardware try using different render engines u can have great results from ( Yafaray ) for example .
if u really want to use Cycles try an online render farm there more than one and it’s not expensive .
Wish u luck
I know it has been awhile since anything happened in this forum but i felt i should really apologize for the things i said ill be honest, i was feeling frustrated with blender and inspiration in general, which isnt an excuse but hopefully you can understand that I mean anyone who knows 3d art knows frustration, lol. But the bottom line is that im sorry
thank you to anyone who took the time to respond to this thread and it was all good advice
