Modern living room

Hey guys,

I am currently working on an interior scene (living room). It’s not finished, some objects need to be textured, other need to be re-textured and some decorations are missing.

Most of the time I was working on the lighting but still have problems with them. There is not enought light coming from outside (I use HDRI environment lighting), so the whole scene doesn’t look very realistic.

I’m rendering with Cycles at 2000 Samples and Full HD.

What do you think? I hope for criticism and suggestions.

P.S.: Sorry for my bad english.

One thing I learned from Jonathan Williamson’s AV tutorial on Blender Cookie is to render the window separately. Glass is one of those things that can cause fireflies in Cycles, so taking the window out for the “main” scene will give you a little better (and faster) results. Then, you can render just the window on a layer by itself, then the background by itself. Then you can combine them in the compositing phase. This gives you a lot of control over the final look.

If you’re a Citizen member, I’d highly recommend checking out that tutorial.

First of all thank you for your comment. I didn’t know that a window could cause fireflies.

Actual I added an emission plane outside the room, but the render time increased from 1h 36 min. to more than 2h. And there are still exist the fireflies. Pictures will follow.

I searched for the tutorial you mentioned but I couldn’t find it. I would appreciate if you could post a link to that tutorial. That would help me a lot.

As I wrote in the last post I will share the new render with you. I think it looks much better than the previous one, but there are still things to do with the lighting.

What do you think?

I added some decorations and optimized some materials. The render took 1h 30min., which is in my opinion good compared with the last render.

Full size

Long time ago that I posted something…

I repositioned some objects and made the room itself a little bit smaller. I think the whole scene looks better now. I think I only need to model some thinks outside and some details inside, than will the scene be finished.
