Mom... I want to be a pirate...

Mom… I want to be a pirate… not an octopus!

This is supposed to be for holloween  Oh well, better late than never

made in blender 2.54/2.55

thanks for viewing!

How about a pirate octopus?

Render and modelling look good.

Hahaha I love it.

The textures seem okay, but the lighting could use some work. It’s a great picture though I like all the details of the room.

Lovely little picture. I feel that pose of the character needs some love (actually, it feels as if there is no posing at all) - you need to move feet and hands (now they are twinned). Other than that, no remarks - I could see this in some picture book and it would fit perfectly.

pretty, cute picture.while the room and dress look 3d ,face looks 2d-maybe tweaking lighting on girl will help?

Nice render, but you could tweak the lighting setup a bit. Its pretty bland, that way.

Hey, this is a great Artwork!! Her expression is just gorgeous.

@all: thank you very much for all the nice comments and crits!! I’m glad you guys like it.

for lighting crits: I only used the simple 3 point lighting technique for the character. I’m still in the process of learning how to light properly. If anyone can point a tutorial to me about incandescent lighting in a room, I would greatly appreciate it.

for posing crits: There’s really no pose to the character hehehe I’ll try to add some later

thanks again

nice
alter the contrast a bit.

Nice!

composition a little crowded and lighting issues, but very cute and very communicative!

Great!

You had me at the shoelaces!

JAjaja

really cute.

This is rather nice. I like it.

Also, on an unrelated note, I’m impressed with the overall quality of the work posted here in these forums. Blender (and what’s more important) and its community are maturing fast. You know, a software is only as good as the artists making use of it. Way to go.

@michael W: I agree with the crowded composition  but I want to show the details of the room.

@CrashDaddy & Lich: thank you so much jejejeje

@fabittar: thank you! Yup! you’re right. artworks posted here are getting more and more beautiful.

Your image is perfect and colorful  I like such details as a beetle in lower right angle and the ship on the bedside table. It will look more naturally if you add some moves to foots, asymmetry to the position and the same things to the octopus tentacles.

really cool :d
