Monster Month (Sculpting June)

Hello, my name is Patrick and I sculpt weird creatures.
Speed was always a problem in my workflow. I’ve always felt there is a huge room for improvement for me in that area.
Recently because of some life circumstances my time for CGI became significantly limited. I had a choice of either stop doing it altogether or became much faster at it so I can use what is left of my free time efficiently and continue doing what I love to do.
I’ve decided to start a series of sketches, one for each day of June. I will also try to record the sculpting process, or parts of it if my laptop will be able to handle it without melting.
I will post all the final renderings, and videos here.
I am also sharing a .blend file with lighting setup and shader that I will be using.
I encourage everyone struggling with speed, searching for a challenge or fun to join me.
The topic is monsters, you can treat it very loosely, sculpting, modeling, it’s all good as far as it’s made in Blender.

I hope this is a right category for this kind of thread.

First one

Recording videos is a bit of a hassle, so I am not sure if I will record it for every sketch.

Spent way too much time on this one. Something wrong here but I think I should just move.

You could definitely experiment with this even further. I think creature that has only head and arms would be super weird. Also over sized things add another layer of weirdness. Don’t forget about micro creatures also weird as hell.

Cool Ideas! I think I’ll go for the ‘arms-head’ for the next sculpt. I love nano-photography, great source of inspiration.

Great work. I like head sculpt. It really resembles nice monster shape.

Thanks! most of those monsters are not of the ‘scary type’, I should probably call it strange creature month or something.
