Great characters! The last one is my favorite. I love the big hands and long arms vs. small legs
I’m curious as to how you’re rendering these? What’s your setup (lighting and materials)? Is this Blender internal?
Good work, keep it up

Very nice and coooooooooooooooool characters.
Great looking mouth

Thank you Yanneyanen and Patricia3d. I render with blender internal and the lighting is just AO+ three Lamps that surrounds the character, and for materials I use Toon+ Ramps. The setup is a bit more in-depth which might require a tutorial to better explain.

this isn’t hugely relevant but, i like the way you use complimentary colours between the characters and the background… nice touch…

Thanks Highlander_93 I have been studying color theory a bit and finding it very vital for my characters.

I was not happy with the previous face so tweaked it a bit.

Thanks Highlander he’s one of my favs.

Pea the Alien.

Could you explain how you’re doing the eyes? Are they a separate mesh object, or are they part of the whole? Are they UV mapped and textured, or just painted faces? Still loving these little dudes you make!

Your characters are excellent and perfect for a kids book

Nice characters, uniquely stylish. Will they always be portrayed in a straight-on, near orthographic camera view? This works well for some but seems to cheat the volumes of others.

Hi Swirly,

I basically extruded and pulled the rings of polygons inwards at different levels. Here is a wireframe, if you need more info let me know.

Hi Chipmasque,

Thanks for your feedback, They are for my children books and for the most part they will be illustrated head-on and when they are preforming actions u will see them at different angles. So I just render them head-on by default.

Ross - Thank you!
