This is my first true blender project. I want a fantasy ish scene that incorporates a white tiger. My gf loves them. So I want to make a scene and print it onto canvas and give to her as a gift.
So… this is what I have so far. I am starting work on the tiger pattern. I also have not added any textures to the floor or walls. I am open to suggestions on what to use for that as well.
Im thinking adding in some clouds that can capture some of the colors… any thoughts on that?
Please be honest, as this will be a finished product printed onto canvas when it is finished.
The walls seem to be too dominant, maybe make them smaller or a few shades lighter. The tiger should be closer, and looking at the moon or you, or doing something to play in with the story.

I think your off to a fantastic start. When it’s finished I’m sure your girl is going to love it. I’m not sure what future work you have planned, so forgive me if some of what I suggest is already in your planning… I would use sculpting mode to bring in some really deep detail to the cliffs, and you can’t forget to head into the node editor to give those moons that glow… It’s going to be something really special when it’s all complete.
Hopefully you would even consider submitting it to my websites online art gallery! Would make for a fantastic addition! Sorry… couldn’t help a little line of self promotion. haha. Can’t wait to see your updated renders!
@chadallen Yes I do plan on doing work in the compositor. Sculpting the walls had not occurred to me. I could get some references and work on it a little. Might sound weird… but i live in FL and have no idea what rock walls should look like =]
Thank you guys. I will work on the walls and post the results. I think I will finish all the modeling, positioning, and materials before i start compositing. So that will be a few days before i get to that part. Hope to post updates in a day or so.
the tiger looks a bit stiff, try a few different poses… looking forward to the finshed product would make a cool wallpaper, what resolution will you render it at?
@gregzaal- I am going to talk to some print shops and they will tell me whats best for printing I’m sure.
@blackcat- I wish I could take credit for the tiger, BUT I’m still pretty new and in my quick search for tiger references I couldn’t find one that I could personally model. I spent a couple hours looking for pics and trying to model it myself… but Im only 3 weeks into blender and 3d art in general. My results were less then impressive. I got this from a free source on the net… Iv been to sooo many, I dont remember which one I got it from, but it took hours to find.

@ Keith - No worries i like where your head is. I don’t always read the text either. Most of the messages are excuses for why the art sucks and why we need help. =] I did the same thing clearly. It’s all about ideas and a fresh perspective is more then welcome.
@gregzall - When i posted that reply i did. Looked for like 30 minutes. I’ll just upload the obj or w/e format its in. Stuck on campus all day, ill have it up by tonight / tomorrow morning. I think its 3ds now that i think of it. Ill also give the final result in w/e res you want, or Ill post the final .blend.
