More cores or higher Ghz?

I’m looking at new Mac hardware and trying to evaluate higher clock speed versus more cores and wonder if Blender uses all cores in a 4- or 8- core Intel-based Mac?

It really depends if there’s is a dramatic change in speed, however I would tend to opt for more cores. The actual program uses the GPU as far as I know but rendering is multithreaded and uses the CPU. By default it’s set to use the same number of threads as the number of cores you have.
