more crashing

Hi all,

Thanks for the thoughtful replies on the Python2.4/OSX problem. Really seems like a nice forum. I need some more help tho.

Still having some trouble. I tried downloading python 2.4, got it installed properly with the OS X frameworks. Fired up Blender 2.41. Started playing with the fluid tutuorials…
…crashed on bake
Then just tried a render of the default cube
…crashed on render
Soooo, downloaded the vns: 2.4 alpha (2.39), 2.40, 2.41 – all with the older python 2.3.
… all crash on rendering the default cube. Just using the blender render, mind you. Not yafray.
2.37a works just fine. Except – it does not seem to support the fluid bakin’ that I wish to play with.
And, guess what happens in 2.37a when I try out the yafray 0.0.8 panther rendering engine?
…crashes on render.

Obviously, I need some more configuration help.

So, here is my Mac specs:
10.3.7 (can’t upgrade, company’s machine not mine)
Powerbook G4 15"
64 MB VRAM
1 GB RAM

All help and advice VERY much appreciated. If the answers are buried in previous forum replies, please help me find them.

Thx,
jim

everything should work out of the box…have you tried looking at the console output for the crashes to try and narrow things down? I would highly recommend talking to your company’s sysadmin to get the latest upgrades…I’m betting that would fix things.
