More than 8 UV maps on one object?

Hello

I really need to have 13 UV maps on my object, but unfortunately, i found out that only 8 UV maps can be assigned to one object… Does anybody know how to have more than 8 UV maps on one object?

You cannot have more than 8 per object. You’d have to change the blender source code or get a developer to do this for you.

Any workarounds depend on what you actually want to do. You could have two objects, each with 8 UV maps and you animate stitching between the two. This may or may not be applicable in your case, you’d have to supply more info.

I am curious what would require so many UV maps on one object. Often when people are running out of UV slots they are doing something that is unnecessary, because they don’t know that you can use the same map in as many places as you want. A large number of maps is necessary when you wan to unwrap your mesh in several different ways, but I can’t even think of that many ways to unwrap a mesh.

So, I guess I’m saying that although we can’t provide you with more slots, we might be able to tell you that you don’t need them?

yes and no

it is 8 UV per material on the object!
