More than just quads?

Hi. Is there any possibility to make a face that has more than just 4 vestices? Without disassembling the whole mesh, of course. Subdivide creates nasty tris I really can’t stand (nor can my subsurf modifier). Something like i’m looking for is the cut or whatsoever tool in max. Any ideas?

No … Blender does not currently support ngons. Only three- and four-sided polys are possible.
