Morning Reflections

Hello!
First time sharing here a small project, I was working on during the recent holidays. It started as research project to create a realistic beach and water material. To create a more interesting scene I then created this monolithic structure inspired by the architect Aldo Rossi and the Painting “isle of the dead” by Arnold Böcklin. Rendered with Cycles everything is done in Blender except for the hills in the background. Some post-processing done in Photoshop. Hope you like it

Amazingly good and realistic project! On second image it was really hard to convince myself that this is cgi : - ) :ok_hand:t2: :clap:t2:

Superb pink material! Wanna tell us how u achieved the variations ?

Cheers

Thanks!

Thank you. The pink material is a at the base a mix of two megascan plastermaterials masked with a noise textrure. Then there is for the outer edges an ambient occlusion + noise mask is brightening up the edges and the same thing darkening the creases.
Another Noise map is brining variations to the glossinies map to increase the variation in the reflectiveness and at the end the leakings are multiplied on top with a different uv-map.

No, I used a HDRI but the sky visible in the image is from a backplate.
