morphing during animating

I’m fairly new to blender so I don’t know alot about it, go simple on any explanations please

I’m making a cell reproduction animation and I want one sphere to pull apart into two spheres, i want it to look as fluid as possible. and i can’t edit the mesh during animating as what I do effects all frames.

any help?

The easiest way would be to use metaballs instead of a mesh. From the Add menu select Meta instead of mesh and then select Meta Ball. Exit edit mode if you are in it and then add another Meta Ball. If you move one of the meta balls it should appear as if two cells are separating. You could also animate the scale of one meta ball if necessary.
