Morphing material colors in realtime

Ok say I have a cube how would I go from light blue to dark blue over a period of time pragmatically?

One option.
Keyframe animate the colour from pale blue to dark blue. This creates an action.
Use an Action actuator to play this action triggered by some sensor such as a key press

See attached example. Press spacebar in the game engine to change the colour
