C&C welcome.

cool texturing, but it could do with some more adjustment, depending on what it is. if its bone, then you need a nice bump (what ever material you use, you need a nice bump map) also smooth up the bones a bit.

cool start though, i love the concept.

Cool concept indeed  I would suggest just a bit more detail tho. It looks just a little flat to me…

You wouldnt happen to be playing Ragnarok Online would you? ^^

Some mist might add to the depth. Works well for a sandstorm look. Take a look at my last weekend challenge entry. In the first frame, the ‘stone age lego’, I used mist to simulate windblown sand. Also I made a damn fine sand texture if I may say so.

yes, but I dont actually pay for it my friend does I just use his acount since he doesn’t play 24/7…and there is a free ragnarok around my area says to be a sponsor of ragnarok…I heard the owner is really good at CS.

yeah your right thats what I did from my past project Feng Shu fanart by the way.

It reminds me a bit of an RPG called Torment. It had alot of really interesting looking structures that took forever to load but they were very cool.

Very interesting ^^ cool stuff…

(btw since iRO went p2p…I joined a private server…it usually has abot 400 people playing on it…and its for freeeeee xD)

It occured to me that you might like my method of making structures out of custom made fonts. I downloaded a program that made TTFs from bitmaps, then just scanned in some ink drawings, mostly siloettes (?sorry I could not locate my dictionary) of ornate structural stuff,…made them into fonts, and loaded them into blender where I assigned them a depth, texture etc. worked really well, and very economical time wise. I left a post on it a couple of weeks back with some examples. Your structural supports on the sides of those dwellings would be just the sort of thing I would likely use it for. Plus, once you have made an ‘alphabet’ or even a partial one, you have but to press a ‘hotkey’, and up pops the desired object. <<<EDIT>>> aha, found the pic===>

Modron: very interesting structures I would like to see more of it.

yafray test: comments and tips is always apriciated.

hmm… I don’t know, sounds like cheating to me
also a lot of trouble… why not just quickly extrude and shape the ornament from a plane, and then extrude?

Well, first of all, this isn’t a contest entry, so I don’t think the term ‘cheating’ is applicable. %| Also, have you seen my signature that was done this way? Very natural looking, wouldn’t you say? It took me all of 3 minutes to get it from paper to blender, and I could have done something more complex had I wanted to. So; Makes shapes from drawings, handwriting, a photo set to ‘threshold’…, AND,…it does it REALLY fast,…AND,…it is economical memory-wise as well. So,…you may choose to do it the hard way. I will use the fontmaker, thank-you.

Also, as I mentioned, once you have made yourself an alphabet, with wrenches, wheel spokes, whatever,…all of these objects can now be called up via a ‘hotkey’. I find it to be most economical, and quite practical, especially for something with alot of whacky curves, such as my signature. ( if you want to look at the sig, https://blenderartists.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14726&highlight=iron+clad+signature )
Oh, and the cross looks great!

ahhhh that looks really great, man. very nice.

:o, Awesome Yafray renders. Yafray must defently be integrated into blednder. I’ll hope Blender 2.29 has Yafray in it. :stuck_out_tongue:
