Two of those are new, and I haven’t messed with raytracing transparency.

There is a lot of documentation in the release notes for each version of Blender, if you read it.

For AO, turn on raytracing and mess with the options in the world settings (it’s a tabulated button).

I don’t use or prefer area lights.
