motion blur to a pre-rendered avi

Is there a way to add motion blur to a pre-rendered avi? This way I wouldn’t have to render 8 (or 5, 11, 16) times the amount of frames.

get the new version of blender (CVS build) and have a look at the compositor, there is vector motion blur in the new build which blurs in one render pass…
