Motion capture data (BVH's and such)

I’ve been using the CMU .bvh’s (and a couple Second Life bvh’s).

And I’m just curious…

Are BVH’s the “preferred method” for motion capture data in Blender, or are there…

New…

Wonderful…

ways in Blender to take advantage of motion capture data?

Discuss.

(Slurps coffee) :slightly_smiling_face:

It all depends… there are a lot of free bvh which where fine at their time but are just usable as a reference today… also something like mixamo is used today to look at the animation possibilities of your character while you are developing it (saw a tut a few days ago but can’t find anymore)… and so all animation look the same…

I will investigate the Mixamo idea.

I see that I can upload FBX or OBJ files.

I wonder which (FBX or OBJ) exporter in Blender is better.

Do you have an opinion?

Thanks!
