Motion Tracking, not camera tracking. Can ICARUS do it?

I have already done Camera Tracking with ICARUS with pleasing results.

Now, what I want to do, is motion tracking of a particular object in a scene.

For example, a person with a book in his hand. Then “replace the book” with something rendered in Blender.

Is this possible? Is there software like this.

I have seen documentaries where actors have those “sticky dots” to help in motion tracking, for CG effects.

That’s what MoCap is about, three or more cameras from which the motion of each target is triangulated and written to .bvh or similar files. ShotSpot for tennis uses it and all these new adds and features that show freeze-motion and then pan around the splash of water droplets suspended in motion take it a bit further and triangulate scanned surfaces.
