Hi, I’m having problems using the motion trail add on that was included in the official 2.62 version. Using windows 7 64 bit if that matters.
I take a simple cube and animate a few positions across the time line
-I enable motion trail
-set the mode setting to location
-set path object to simple
-the motion path DOES display, and I can select the points
-but no matter what setting I use for handle type… I cannot move the handles like you should be able to, in order to adjust the path… It’s like the their locked and inoperable
Can anyone confirm what I might be doing wrong or maybe do a quick test and see if you experience the same problem.
I’d really like to use this feature, thanks in advance
Yep, I have tried the q key. But there’s bigger problem than just not being able to select the keyframes. The trail itself is invisible. Does anybody have this add-on working for them? I’d love to know which versions you’re using.
The version of the add on is 3.1.1. I am using 2.62 official I finally got it working, but the path does kind of disappear sometimes as you move along the time line, but then reappears farther down the path. You might try a couple things… increase the path width. Also move around in the 3d viewport with the middle mouse button.
For me, after selecting the points, by right clicking the handles did appear. I use G to move them, but maybe Q works too. I was advised to go and download the latest version
and install it in this location Windows 7 - C:\Users%username%\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.5x\scripts\addons. Once I intalled it there it ended up working.
I got it to work. I couldn’t get motion trail to function correctly until I used the ersion harleynut97 AND i have to work in a new file created in the new version of blender. So motion trail would work if I started from scratch but not when I opened a file constructed in a a previous version (2.5x). So I appended my model to the new file and I was able to see the trail and manipulate it.
