Hi guys,
is it possible to bring back the median point to the center of an object or can one move the median point ? I did a search for it in the manual and forum, but didn’t found an answer on this.
thanks,
Hans

The median point is calculated to the centre of the object. I think you mean the object centre
Well you can’t move it, you have to move the verts around it.
EDIT: I think there might be a snap to 3d Cursor though. I’m not sure where it is.
Hi Alex,
you’re right, I meant the object center. I can snap to the 3d cursor with clicking shift + s, but what I need is to snap to object center or move the whole object so the object center is in the middle of the object again. I have an object I edited and the center point is now outside the object, I can in edit mode move the object, but I would like it to be perfectly in the middle of the object.
thanks,
Hans
Try this:
Go in edit mode. Select all the vertices. Press N for transform properties panel. select Local and set X, Y and Z to 0. This centers the vertices to the centerpoint. Drawback is that the object has moved from its original position, but you can easy find a workaround for that.
Moving an object in edit mode will offset it from the object center to correct this in object mode press F9 and on the mseh tab…
Center - Move object to object center point
Center New - Move object center point to center of object
Center Cursor - Move object center point to cursor
Yes ReeVee, that’s the way to do it. Totally forgotten Blender had that function…
Thanks Softwork and Reevee for the help !
best,
Hans
