Moved a blender file to my ssd usb. Now when I copied it back blender says it cannot read it

The original is on the usb. Is there anyway to open the file now that it is on the usb? There is also a blend 1 file on the usb. I spent hours and hours on this file. Thanks

I have an autosave. I will try opening it. Thanks

If your drive failed, that’s not really a Blender issue you know. I suppose you could try to Append various things from the file maybe? No promises it will work, but you could try.

I think the problem is that one drive is fat 32 and the other is nfts file format. What do you think Piotr?

If the OS can access it, it shouldn’t make a difference.

I recovered the autosave and it worked. Now to make sure my d drive is the same format as my c drive. I will copy the file to my d drive. That should not affect the original file should it?

How long do temp files remain in the temp folder?

Until you delete them, or your OS does, I think.
