Movie "Jack in the Bottle" finally complete...

Hi everyone.

I posted the first scene of this movie a few months back, but this is the whole thing.

I’m really excited to hear your comments. It’s been alot of hard work! :expressionless:

(Added 10-29-03- The following link is a new Divx version that is alot better in quality than the original wmv’s I posted. It’s about 40 megabites.)

i cant get to ur siet either, but it sounds cool, cant wait!

Well, Here is another try. I’ve created a site over at 50free.com,
and added the files there.

Try this:

http://laniru.50free.net

and this site is still up too, but with horribly small bandwidth:

http://jackinthebottle.tripod.com/

Here’s hoping! :-?

watched them… very cool! the walk cycles, textures, video editing, most of it could have been imroved, but it didmt seem like thats what you were going for… it was really cool, really wierd… almost a cult movie.

Cool.

Which site did you use? I’m hoping that the 50free site will work better than tripod.

the top one, whichever one that is

Cool. Nice job with the lip synching.

hmm… I saw the preview (the first part) before… and I guess I said it then but I say it again… this is in my opinion the best blender movie I’ve seen yet… it doesn’t have perfect texturing and lighting and modelling, but it’s the only one, that has actual, real plot, with believable characters. you really build a story there… so I felt like watching a movie, rather than fireworks.

it had a little bit too much david lynch in it, but I’ll forgive you that, because it’s just worked, and looked cool

Ooh. You got me there with the David Lynch thing. I know this movie owes a tremendous debt to his style. Perhaps the similarities are too overt.

But I really appreciate the fact that you guys liked the story. I wrote the script in college a few years back. It’s inspired by a very creative friend of mine who struggled with alcoholism. We did a little live action version of “Jack in the Bottle” with a hand held camera back then, but it was just awful.

I always wanted it to be more… so I made a Blender version!

by the way, alltaken,

I appreciate you hosting the film for me!

I can only second that. Loved it!

I liked it
Need to do a high res and better audio version though.

Well,
My original version is huge. I made it 640 by 480 at 30 frames a second. I burned it to SVCD, and it looks great playing on my DVD player.

So I could make an internet version as big as you want it, just don’t have any bandwidth.

Sorry.

it would be very nice to have an divxavi. I’m trying to watch them. but I just hate wmv

ok you can make a bigger one if you want to, make one about 50Mb for the whole lot and i will host it, i have a good 3Gb bandwidth left so it should be sweet.

so make one double the size

Alltaken you have to consider the viewing audience somewhat,…I for instance am on it dial up,…which believe it or not is pretty typical,…to download 30 MBs is a stretch,…nay,…inconcievable for me/the rest of us who are on dial up. My suggestion would be to make a condensed version,…slap it on divX in Blender,…and have it available to us mere mortals who are not on cable. :expressionless:

It is extremely nice to see that someone followed through on a very ambitious project. I commend you for that! It makes me want to get my ass in gear and finally finish a big project!

The fact that the modelling, texturing and animation are a bit unrefined do not take away from the story (although look who your audience is… of course we are going to look at it with a critical technical eye… ).

I liked the music. Great job in capturing the somewhat depressing atmosphere.

modron i would still host the smaller version, but also host a high res version. is that an issue?

yes i do consider dial up people as i had one 2 weeks ago, however i would commonly watch 20Mb+ movies on dial up i don’t see the issue there

i dunno
