Moving a vertex with plane constraints

I know how to move a vertex (in edit mode) with a constraint on a given axis (keys G, X / Y / Z), but is there a way to constrain the movement to a given plane, like XY ?

For example, I want to look from the camera and move a vertex on the XY plane.


Try shift+Axis, in your case Z to exclude one.

select a face then Ctrl-Shift C and select face

then vertex will move on the face
