Moving an object with a rig, without deforming it

I made a couple of flaps, and i want to move them independently from each other. If i try to rotate one upwards, instead of just rotating the flap, it deforms it. Unchecking the deform option in the bone setting, it won’t move the flap connected to the bone.

The weights on the mesh should be adjusted, so that the bone only influences the areas that you want.

Select the Armature in object mode, then shift-select the mesh. Switch to Weight Paint mode, and alt-click on one of the bones.

This will show you the weights assigned to each vertex for the selected bone. You can use the various brushes to adjust the weights as necessary. Do a search on YouTube for videos that will show you how to go about weight painting.
