Hey, I was just wondering…I want to do some video editing, like as in put 3D models into my video…anyway, I know that you can make a video texture (make a plane, go to textures pannel, select add image texture, load a video)…but that only shows the video on the plane when you render it, which is a real pain in the backside seen as I have a 3D person, and whenever I want to move him to whereever on my video, i have to move him then render the frame to see if hes in the right position, and if hes not, then move…render…move…render…you get my point…anyway, I was wondering if theres a way to see the perticular frame of the video you are on, in the 3D view?
When you are in the camera view or the side, front, or top viewports you can go to View>Background Image.
Then when you load the video, somewhere(I think the lower right corner of the background image panel) if a button that says update automatically.
Hope this helps!

If you do find a way to get this working reliably, myself and others would be excited to know. If you do not get it working, then there is a workaround posted in the linked thread, and I may have to just go on over to the official site and figure out how to submit a bug report. Either way, the results of your experimenting would be useful.
