Is there a way to make the texture on something look like it is moving? thanks
animate the Ofs channels (xyz) by pressing I with your cursor in the MapInput panel (material) area. In the IPO window, edit the IPO curve for the Material, OfsX Y Z channels. http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Manual/Ipo_Types#Animating_Materials

Every once in a while something in Blender really stupefies me. Perhaps it’s my age.
I’m making a mental note that the 8 texture slots begin at 0 (zero); not 1 (one). :o
you can also move a texture by mapping it to ‘object’ and then animating whatever object you mapped it to ( usually an empty )
