Is it possible to move the centre of an armature to the 3D cursor. I have my model and my rig, but I struggle with animation because the centre of the armature is suspiciously positioned in front of the character’s face. Since the edit buttons for armatures don’t have a “Center Cursor” button, I am wondering if there is any means through which I can move that centre without breaking my rig?
yes, with the current and previous versions. In object mode with the armature selected, Shift-Snap your cursor to the selection. tab into edit mode and select All via the A key. Grab and move all those bone ends such that the root bone end (the start of the armature) is over your cursor. Switch to all three views (top, side, front) to be sure the root bone is over the object center. Tab out, and youre done. good job.
