Mr. Elephant & Mr. Mouse

Hi all.
I’m pleased to announce that we just uploaded the trailer to our new interactive children’s book on Youtube. The app is entirely illustrated in Inkscape and imported into Blender using ‘import images as planes’. The interactivity is being applied in unity.

Check it out.

Though blender only played a partial role on our other two books, they can be found here:

Great style, congrats on the book. BTW is the film dirt a canned effect or made by hand?

I used ‘Projector’ in final cut pro for the aged effect.

Love your books, illustrations look great! I am producing a interactive storybook for iOS/Android as well, what did you use for base framework?

I work with a Unity guy (The Jellybiscuits part of the team) and he has a bunch of scripts and code he wrote for the page turning and menus and stuff. I write the story, illustrate it design the interactions and animate it, as well as find and create the effects and do the voice read. A lot of work for something that sells for 2 bucks

Just sell enough of 'em and keep smiling all the way to the bank.

IT’S AVAILABLE!
Woo! After all that work, the book came online this morning.
Go and buy it if you have kids or are a kid or just want to support a fellow Blender head

all made with Inkscape, Blender and Unity…

Love it Glenn! Great result. Are the animations in Unity as a sprites or do you use any kind of system like bones, cutouts etc.

Lots of armatures and shape keys basically.
There are also some sprites and custom Unity scripts.
