Is this card the MSI GeForce GTX 1050 Ti GAMING X 4GB GDDR5 Graphics Card good for rendering and 3d animation in blender.
My budget is around 800 pounds no including windows. I have found a prebuilt set up which is this
Intel Core i5 6400 6th Generation
16GB DDR4 2133 MHz
MSI Geforce GTX 750 Ti 2GB GDDR5
1TB 3.5* 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive
Novatech Power station 500 PSU (Non modular)
Gigabyte GA-H110M-S2H Motherboard
If i change the graphics card to the ‘MSI Geforce GTX 1050 Ti GAMING X 4BG GDDR5 Graphics Card’
Would that be good for doing 5-7 second 3d animations with lighting etc, not to complex, but in HD 1080p
And would I need to also upgrade the power supply?
Here’s a parts list I put together from a PC shop in Australia, the parts are a decent bit better than the prebuilt; SSD + HDD, better GPU than both the 750Ti and 1050 Ti. Could bump up CPU or change motherboard if you remove Windows from the cost.
Given the exchange rate from AUD to GDP and parts generally being overpriced here, you should easily be able to get these parts for 800 pound, especially if you remove the Windows OS I included.
With regards to if its good for animations, that all depends on how much you want to render, the quality and of course the lighting setup. ‘Simple’ scenes can take ages to render depending on the lighting.
You should either be able to buy the parts, or if you don’t want to build it find a PC shop that will assemble your PC for a fee, even better if they sell the parts.
whenever one may wonder if a PSU upgrade is needed, the answer is you most likely need to up it 200 watts. i have personally seen power supplies burst into smoke and flames. never cheap on the PSU. corsair and evga(G2, T2, P2 are high quality) are reputable brands, and make sure its at least GOLD certified. it baffles me they still make units with less then 600 watts.
i apologize for EVGA fanboyism. but experience doesnt lie.
somebody needs to make a sticky in here regarding PSU stuff.
Thanks, I appreciate it, so you reckon go with at least 600 if not 650 watt? Also is the EVGA 1060 better that the other 1060’s? its the most expensive 1060 on the list, is it worth it? Thanks
