Anybody with tutorial or information of how to use the Blender multi-channeled texture
No need for a tutorial: Click the channel-button you want, add new texture and change the settings to the values you want for the texture. I think.
Yeah in the texture window there’s long horizontal bars next to the picture on the left, those are the channels. Just click the next one down and add another texture.
Thanks for the info. BTW, how about the layer/channel interacts. Additional tips like which channel to put colors, which channel to put bumps will be nice to know. Such tutorial will definitely helps beginners alike.

Texure layers can interact and blend depending on the mode you use (Mult, Mix, Add, Sub). These buttons can be found in the material buttons. Also, you can use what’s called stenciling. You can find a good tutorial on it here: http://personal.interkan.net/~gspshome/redfox/Blendermania%20Tutorials/Stencilling.htm
There’s no definite channels for Bump, specularity, color, alpha, etc. The textures will be layered on each other, starting with the rightmost channel ending up on top. You should familiarize yourself with the greenish buttons in the material window- Col (color), Nor (Bump), Spec(specularity), etc. Any texture can affect one or more of these. The sliders below the buttons effect their values.

That should read ‘starting with the leftmost channel, texture channels to the right affect the ones to the left of them, with the rightmost channel ending up on top’ right?
Also, there was something special about the last texture channel wasn’t there? Could someone remind me what that was again. Thanks

You’re right! The texture channel on the far left is on the bottom, and the one on the far RIGHT is on top of everything else!
The 8th texture channel can be used to control the movement of particles if you have “Tex” (and “Nabla”, depending on the green buttons surrounding it) greater than 0.
Thanks guys for the info. It is really helpful. Thanks again.
