Not sure if this thread should be here in modeling or what, but here goes.
I need to find a way to make hair in which each strand contains at least three color sections. Say it starts at the base with white, is gray in the middle, and yellow at the top.
How can I achieve this? I am using Blender 2.46 with Windows XP Home/Vista.
Add a new texture to the material on your hair mesh. Set it to Blend and use the Colorband for the Blend texture to set the colors you want (white, Grey, Yellow). Finally, in the Map Input tab, set the option to Strand. This will cause the texture to be applied along the length of each hair strand.
