Multi-file output for compositing

Is there a way to make blender render the combine, z-pass, alpha, emission, ambient, and b/w of a single render image through node setup in Blender 2.63? I would like to render a image or animation and have the node setup do multi-file output. Saving a lot of compositing time and allow for more manipulations.

I plan to use the node setup to composite. Then I can do effects utilizing Blender.

I tried to setup with no luck. This is how I setup the node. I usually put PNG rgba but tried MultiLayer EXR file with no luck.

If MultiLayer didn’t work, you did something basic wrong. Try again. That’s the right answer.

I figured out what I did wrong. Since I use Ubuntu where I am dealing with a new problem. A easy way to view the file through a multi-layer exr viewer so I can easily scan files contents when needed?
