Multi UM Map Problems

where am i going wrong;
I’m trying to use a couple of UV maps to put materials/logos etc on my plane. i’ve unwrapped bits to one UV map, when i create the 2nd map the bits of the first are still showing too. i pushed on, made the two images and when i assign them to the plane, using the relevant UV maps using UV nodes, it’s a mess - it looks like the logo is also using the UV islands from the first map as there’s duplicated bits all over the fuselage, and i can’t see anything that seems to be using the first map.
