I am designing a townscape in Blender and need to “bake” lighting & bumpmaps on a large amount of meshes to be used later, exported to .x and used in Blitz 3d to allow movement and collision in a game / demo / concept. Baking is no problem.
How do I get around the problem of baking every singleseperate mesh in the town?
Is it possible to bulk bake textures?
Or another way around the problem.

Not unless you join the meshes together and then split a large texture between them.
Probably scriptable though I haven’t tried it.
Ok, thanks, it’s do-able but not easy then.
Will experimant.

At least it’s possible to select multiple objects at once (they have to be prepared for baking: unwrapped and image assigned to uv-layout) and bake them in one go - they don’t have to be joined for this process. If you have done unwrapping and everything you can bake normals in one go for all objects, then lightmaps and so on.
